Every other time I hit a topic or forum I get something like this:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Occurred While Processing Request
Error Diagnostic Information

An error occurred while evaluating the expression:

#Forum# eq 20

Error near line 16, column 14.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The expression has requested a variable or an intermediate expression result as a simple value, however, the result cannot be converted to a simple value. Simple values are strings, numbers, boolean values, and date/time values. Queries, arrays, and COM objects are examples of complex values.

The most likely cause of the error is that you are trying to use a complex value as a simple one. For example, you may be trying to use a query variable in a tag. This was possible under Cold Fusion 2.0 but is an error under later versions.

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFIF), occupying document position (16:1) to (16:20).

And everytime I try to post, I get asked to log-in again. And I never left the board.

Not to pile on, but to help... :)

Before today I always got this message when I clicked on any thread/forum AFTER leaving the window inactive for half an hour, or whatever the auto-logout time is. I noticed that it had to do with me being logged out when I returned to that window and got the error.

Didn't post it before because it wasn't an inconvience... As with today, the problem is always solved with a simple REFRESH/RELOAD. (of course I don't post much so I don't care too much about being logged out. today it seems the problem has spread though...)

Dan-O, I experience the same thing you describe on a regular basis. I think that's supposed to happen.

The difference today is that it was happening like every minute or so. However, it seems to have been resolved.

What sucks is having to try five times to post one message because between the time you log in, type in your message, and hit the post button, you've been logged out again. And having to hit refresh three times before the page loads correctly.

Well i believe that is because jeff uses "Sessions" to pass information while you are logged in. The default session time is 30 minutes, so if you are inactive your session runs out. It is for security measures financial institutions use it as well.

But the problem now is that after getting an error msg when clicking a thread you get logged out plus the error msg's are running rampant.

You're not along with the errors & log outs, I've been getting a lot of IM's about it all day, I told Jeff, so not to worry, I'm sure it's being fixed whatever it is

Ok I think the error is fixed now. You shouldn't get forum = 20...it should have been forum IS 20....if you see equal anymore let me know..and on what page...

Error resolving parameter TOPIC

ColdFusion was unable to determine the value of the parameter. This problem is very likely due to the fact that either:

You have misspelled the parameter name, or
You have not specified a QUERY attribute for a CFOUTPUT, CFMAIL, or CFTABLE tag.
