| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00  | I just bought a new stereo, because my old one is starting to crap out. However, the speakers are still good. So i want to know if it is possible to hook them up to my PC instead of throwing them away. They use standard speaker connectors, and i can currently hook up one of them to the PC, but the line going into the PC is a different type of connector. Is there a adapter i can purchase? Is there a card i can install? Help me out, Im a hardware moron.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Now when you say "standard" speaker connectors do you mean the red/white RCA jacks or the (basically) bare wires that just go into a hole? I'm guessing the point on the PC where you want to plug them in is your average headphone jack (same plug, you know what I mean)... Radio Shack definitely has adapters that will siwtch RCA plugs to a regular stereo jack. And even if you've just got bare wires, they can probably help you out in rigging something up to work (perhaps making your own RCA plugs and then using an adapter). They don't know squat about anything else, and I am disturbed by their employees' affinity for trying to enroll you into the "battery club," but if there's one thing they know it's connections for electronic equipment. Tell them your plight, I'm sure they'll take you to a police lineup of various plugs and cables and they'll hook ya right up.
