Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | OK, I just started a new job, where I've been reduced to using a Mac and a dial-up connection. Anyway, when I post from work the font is black and the lines are truncated. Why does this happen and can I fix it? BTW, when I preview my posts my font is white but in the actual thread it posts black. AND the last 1-2 characters of my post are always missing. Weird! ----------------------------------- Now I'm convinced the whole day long That all I learn is always wrong And things are true that I forget But no one taught that to me yet This message was edited by Suzie on 7-11-02 @ 2:26 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Dr. FTL! Paging Dr. FTL! You are wanted in Tech Support stat! :-D I can't answer the question about the font, but I do know that the lines being truncated is because you are on a Mac. For some reason they all have that annoying feature.

Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | It appears that whatever browser you are using is inserting carriage returns (which get converted to HTML line breaks) wherever the message entry textbox autowraps what you're typing. The Windows browser only puts in carriage returns when you actually hit the enter key. It may actually be an OS problem and not the browser itself since the OS is usually responsible for the code behind things like text boxes and other standard interface controls. Can you try a different browser just to see? I assume you are using IE. If they let you install software on your work PC try Opera: Visit this Website As far as the color is concerned, I'm not sure. I figured that was controlled by the server so I can't see how the client could affect that.

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Opera does not work well with this board. There are problems with the quick HTML buttons and logging in. Just thought you should know.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I believe it's IE on the Mac that does the carriage return problem. Netscape doesn't do it, but also doesn't display good stuff like marquees, which EVERYONE has. So the answer, really, is that Macs just fucking suck. New AIM, y'know.

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | Well I just tried to post in Netscape, and ran into a whole new problem! After I log in, and it says bringing you back to the previous page, it jumps back to "To post you must first login". Over and over again, each time I log in, I can't get past that. It SUCKS. Other people change their font color on purpose. Can someone teach me how to do that? I don't wanna write in black!! ----------------------------------- Now I'm convinced the whole day long That all I learn is always wrong And things are true that I forget But no one taught that to me yet

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | You must have made it black, to begin with.... the default color is the board's regular grey. Like BM said, go edit your profile, the setting is there. New AIM, y'know.
