This guy used 6 relievers tonight to get 9 outs!! And its not just tonight. There are times were the cardinals will win 4-1, and 6 or 7 pitchers will be used by LaRussa. This is why people get pissed at the sport of baseball, and how long it takes to play a game. He is one of the first people that made up the unwritten rule that you have to use all your relievers and your closer pretty much every night.

About the game tonight, it was nice seeing Griffey hitting the inside the park home run...very weird game. And i think Edmonds might be in the doghouse.

That was an amazing game.

Good to see the Reds play like that and had the will to win even though they are 26 games under .500.

St. Louis will never be able to do anything in the big spot with Dave Veres as their closer. And Edmonds is so lucky that it was the Pitcher on 2nd base in that spot, or he would have felt like the biggest tool.

If LaRussa is such a moron, then how come he lead Oakland to three World Series appearances and one championship in the early '90's, lead the Cards to a divsion championship and amazing pennant run last year, and just had a 12 game winning streak snaped while the Cards may creep up in the wildcard?

The guy knows what he's doing.

I think people by the names of Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, Rickey Henderson, Dave Henderson, Carney Lansford, Dave Stewart, Dennis Eckersley and others had something to do with Oakland.

Oakland was the dominant team in the late 80's and early 90's, and they are in the same situation as the Mets from the Mid 80's in that, They should have won more than just 1 Championship.

Also his Cardinals had a 3-1 lead in the 96 NLCS and got outscored 30-3 in the last 3 games to the Braves. And his team got pounded by the Mets last year, and he blew game 2 by starting Ankiel when he knew he couldnt find the plate.
