Ive been a Met fan my entire life and this was hands down the FUCKING WORST meltdown I have EVER seen. One strike away from a win 8 times?!?! Horrible. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | I never want to see Armando Benitez throw another pitch again, unless its for another team. He can take his 43 meaningless saves and stick them up his ass. Whenever their is a Big Spot for this guy, whether it be Game 6 in the 99 NLCS when he blows a save that would have forced Game 7, Whether its Game 2 against the Giants last year and he gives up a 3 run Homer to JT Snow to send it to extra Innings. Whether its the infamous Game 1 of the World Series debacle which put the Mets downhill. But how do you twice in one week blow 3 and 4 run leads respectively in the 9th. I have been a supporter of Benitez in the Past. But Fuck Him. Get the Fuck out!! Now I am a very big supporter of Bobby Valentine, but sorry Bobby you fucked this up too. Why in the world would you put Benitez in with a 4 run lead after last week. And then what are they doing intentionally walking 40+year old Julio Fuckin Franco. Just pitch to the bastard. You want no part of Brian Jordan in the on deck circle. Let Franco or Wes Helms beat you, not Brian Jordan. God I never thought that Michael Jordan would get knocked down to my 2nd least favorite person named Jordan, but that has happened. I am so absolutely disgusted right now. The Mets would have been better off to me to play like shit the past 2 months just like they did the first 4 months, it would be alot easier to take right now. There better be some Major Fuckin Changes next year. Ive fuckin had it right now. I thought nothing could be worse than last week, well it only took 6 days to find out that that was wrong.  | ||||

Only good news - they collapsed before Wednesday, when I would have had to pony up for potential playoff tix. Wednesdayy when I got the letter it was a tough decision. If the Mets finish by anything 4 games or less it will be all because of these 9th Inning Nightmares. If the Mets got those final outs in those 2 devastating losses, they would be tied with the Braves right now as that is a 4 game difference. Their is still MINOR MINOR hope, with the way the Braves and Phillies have been awful down the stretch, you never know. The Phillies must lose today to Florida, if that happens the Mets are 4 behind The Braves, 2 behind the Phillies. The Mets MUST win all 6 games against the Pirates and Expos which is possible considering they just swept 6 straight from them on the road. The Phillies must win 2 out of 3, or sweep the Braves. If the Phillies win 2 out of 3: The Mets are 2 behind The Braves and 1 behind the Phillies, they would then need the Braves to lose 2 out of 3 to Florida, and the Phillies to lose 1 out of 3 to Cincinnati. If the Phillies sweep: The Mets are 2 behind Philly and 1 behind Atlanta, and would need Philly to lose 2 out of 3 to Cincy, and Atlanta to lose 1 out of 3 to Florida. This will take a miracle, but miracles have happened before. The Mets playing the way they have the past month and a half has been a miracle. The Mets blowing two leads by 3 or more runs in the 9th Inning with 2 outs in a week, is a miracle. So who the hell knows. And by the way im just stating the possibilities, I dont think its going to happen, but I have minor hope because the Braves and Phillies are not very good baseball teams and the Mets have been cleaning up on the bad teams like the Pirates and Expos. | ||||

That guy has 40 of his 43 saves against the Pirates and Expos, that overrated fuck. They arent mathematically eliminated yet, but this last week is going to be tough to grasp. All we can do is win the rest of the games now, and hope for the best. | ||||
