NOOOOOOO!!!!! Damn it, i knew it was going to happen but i really really didnt want it to. Gotta give some props to him though.

By the way, can someone move the Astros out of Houston. I wonder why the Oilers ended up moving out of Houston...cause the people who live there have no idea what rooting for the home team is all about.

Bonds went a couple other times this season with 3 games with no homers, and he always homered the next game and he did it again.

Bravo no matter what you say the guy has done it in less at bats with a better average, he has broken the walk record and tied the HR record and will break the slugging record and be the first man in over 60 years to have over a .500 on base percentage he has probably had the single greatest season of any player in the history of the game barring Rogers Hornsby's .424 season

I am happy, i would rather sammy do it but i'd rather have bonds than Mac.

Wooohooo!!! Fuck that pansy ass steroid user McGwire. Everyone was against Bonds and he still did it. They all tried to pitch around him, but he just wouldn't let down. He deserves it.

And the victim is...

Wilfredo Rodriguez... a rookie reliever that gave up No. 70.

A guy on ESPN made a good point, that pitchers were walking him because he didn't want to go down in history as "the guy" who gave up a monumental pitch.

On the other hand, the Giants finish their season in San Francisco, and Bonds said before his last homestand ended last weekend that he'd "really like to do it at home". So maybe all this walking paid off for him in his mind?

Look at it this way: The Dodgers' pitching rotation has been plagued by injuries this year (can you say Andy Ashby? Or Darren Dreifort?) so Bonds is a shoo-in to make history as soon as Friday. And any idiot can make this prediction.

(Although Opie has one last chance to mention this on-air Friday and then history will truly be made - lol).

Opie you fucking tool! Well, no matter how much of an f-tard Bonds is, he deserves all the credit in the world. Larry Dirker should be ashamed of himself, the way the Astros pitched around him was a disgrace. Opie, you fucking jinx.

I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker!

Yeah Shame on Him. Shame on Him for trying to win a Pennant. We all know a guy breaking the Homerun record on the other team is more important than your own team winning the game.

And right now If I was a Giants fan, Its nice that Bonds hit the Homerun, but lets look at the Bigger Picture. Even with the Giants sweep of the Astros they are still going to need a minor miracle to make the playoffs. They are in the same situation as the Mets were in 99. They are 2 games out of 2 different teams with 3 games to play. They need to catch one, and it doesnt look good.

I really wish he hadn't hit it. I really don't want to see him with the record.

So who's got the rope, I got the pickup truck.

Actually I am glad that McGuires record is about to die, I think Bonds is a better player and deserves it.

You don't think Barry's a bit bigger this year?

He really jumped all over that pitch from Rodriguez. That is probably one of two or three legit at bats Bonds had the entire series. I'm glad he got it, I know he's a tool, but this is an amazing season he had. He's going to break Ruth's slugging percentage, he doesn't strike out, and he gets on base when he's not clearing them.

I have to agree with Scapple. Barry is much bigger this year than ever before. Makes you wonder just a little. I'm not a huge Barry fan, but I'd rather see him with the record than McGwire. He's always been more of a complete player than McGwire, who just hits bombs and doesn't do much else. Although I don't think its out of the range of possibility that Bonds is juicing now, at least he was already a power hitter to begin with. Remember Brady Anderson hitting 50 a couple years ago? The hasn't hit more than 25 since.

I live in Houston and we love our Astros, Rockets, and now Texans. You obviously know nothing about Houston, and should not make comments like that. The Oilers left because Bud Adams was being an unbelievable prick. We had given him everything he had ever asked for, and more. He wanted more seating at the dome so we got rid of the spectacular scoreboard we once had. He wanted ski box's seating built, they where installed. Then not even three years after the box where finished he wants a new stadium which he wanted the taxpayers to pay for. The city finally had enough of his shit and that is the reason the Oilers left. We wanted to keep the Oilers here, and have got NFL back in Houston next year with advent of the Texans. Houston fans are definitely behind our teams. We just built Enron field, and the Football stadium Reliant park is almost complete, and will be the first retractable football stadium. The stadium is being funded equally by the owners/taxpayers, and not entirely by the tax payers like the dickhead Bud wanted us to do. The ground breaking for our Rockets facility is not to far away either. We rooted for Barry because that was an amazing feat, not because we don't appreciate our team. We needed to win that game to stay close with the Card's, and only after the game was out of reach did Barry get pitched to.

good for Bonds. i really hope he gets 71 so McGwire doesn't have anything to do with the record anymore. Bonds is one of the best players to ever play the game. he will finish his career with his home run total in the mid 600's.

he is a complete player, and the same thing can't be said for McGwire. who cares if he's not media friendly; a lot of players aren't. he is having one of the best seasons ever, and i hope he breaks the record this weekend.

I make comments based on what i see and hear. Your right, i dont know what its like in Houston. But:

Well, explain to me why the majority of Astros fans were booing their asses off when they were walking him, intentional or not. Granted i saw 1 banner saying sorry to Barry cause you are trying to win the division. But, unfortuately, the majority of those fans booed their asses off at the Astros, when they should be backing them. Hell i even heard cheers when Jeff Kent hit a home run last night.

Oh, and im not talking about you personally, i can tell you like your Houston teams. Its the rest of the ignorant fans i cant stand.
