** edit. Shit I have no idea how I missed the other Offseason NFL coaches thread. Sorry

If Parcells goes there, I guarantee that Bledsoe will end up as the QB there as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Terry Glenn ends up there as well since the Pats will probably ask for less from any team if they take Glenn too. Glenn was great when Parcells was in NE, and never caused the problems he has caused since Parcells left.

This would allow the Bucs to trade Warrick Dunn since they really haven't utilized Dunn and Allstott at the same time.

The Bucs will be really friggin good with Bledsoe at QB and the rest of the offense they have and if you add Glenn, damn.

Antawain Smith is a free agent after this year, and I dont' think the Pats will sign him again. If they get Dunn, and 1st round pick, and God-knows what else from the Tampa, I think this is a trade that works out.

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) - A loss on Saturday could spell a reunion for Bill Parcells and Keyshawn Johnson.

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that there are signs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a tentative agreement with Parcells to succeed Tony Dungy as coach if the team loses in the wild card round to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Parcells, a Hall of Fame candidate, is expected to sign a five-year contract that would make him the NFL's highest paid coach, according to the newspaper.

``We have a longstanding policy of not responding to rumors or speculation,'' Bucs public relations director Reggie Roberts told the Times.

Rumors were rampant during last season's Super Bowl at Tampa Bay that Bucs owner Malcolm Glazer was pursuing Parcells. That likely cost Parcells a Hall of Fame election since committee members expected him to return to coaching.

However, Glazer decided to stick with Dungy for another season, although he refused to give him a contract extension, and the Bucs qualified as the final NFC wild card with a 9-7 record. That will likely not be enough for Dungy to retain his job if the Buccaneers lose to the Eagles on Saturday.

A win Saturday would mean a trip to St. Louis (14-2) for the divisional playoff the following weekend.

Dungy has led Tampa Bay to the playoffs four of the last five seasons, but the Bucs reached the NFC title game just once in 1999. He has a 54-42 career record in six years as coach.

The 60-year-old Parcells coached the New York Giants to two Super Bowl titles in 1986 and 1990 and also guided the New England Patriots to a trip to the Super Bowl in 1996. He announced his retirement as coach of the New York Jets in 1999 and resigned as director of football operations last season.

Parcells coached Johnson with the Jets, but sent him to Tampa Bay for a pair of first-round picks after the star receiver hinted at a contract renegotiation.

Steve Spurrier, who resigned as coach at the University of Florida last week, would also be a top candidate for the Bucs job if Dungy is fired. Spurrier nearly took the job in 1996 before Dungy was hired.

dont worry bout it, no one else responds to that thread anyway lol. Anyway, good point about Bledsoe going to Tampa if Parcells goes. That would be a good move. They need to get an offensive line that can do better run blocking. The Bucs ranked near the bottom in rushing every year, and Alstott and Dunn are very credible backs, especially Alstott.

Parcells would NEVER take Terry Glenn!
He threw furniture around when he was over ruled by Kraft. Parcells wanted a defensive player and Kraft had Bobby Grier (since fired) choose Glenn instead. Glenn is a talent but a big time head case and needs help for his substance abuse problem.
Parcells refers to Terry Glenn as "she"
Parcells talks highly of Bledsoe but do not believe it for a minute. Parcells and Bledsoe hate each other and although Drew has some years left, he aint going to TB.
The Patriots will make a huge effort to sign Smith.
Try keeping up with the Boston sports scene before you talk out your ass again.
Everything you said is wrong.

Parcells REFERRED to Glenn as she. Yes, he was upset about getting Glenn initially. However, 90 catches, a rookie record, and ROY honors made him change his tune. By the end of the year, Parcells was admitting that Glenn was a good pick. The fact is, the Pats hate him, and Parcells knows that Glenn can produce under the Parcells system. The Pats will be giving away Glenn this offseason, and don't be surprised of Parcells takes a gamble since he won't have to give up much and Glenn makes very little money.

You are a complete fucking bafoon if you think that Parcells and Bledsoe hate each other. They speak glowingly about each other whenever they have a chance. Parcells practically sucks Bledsoe's dick on his radio show.

Don't bank on the Pats making an all out charge to get Antawain in the offseason. He's going to be asking for a ton of money, and he's pretty old, whereas the Bucs will get rid of Allstott or Dunn (who's 25) and Allstott is more of the Parcells style of runner than Dunn.

In closing, eat my ass.

Dunn is 27.
Smith will be 30 in March.
Parcells is just being diplomatic.
Bledsoe and Parcells cannot stand each other.
There is mutual respect and that is where it ends.
You are naive if you think they like each other.
The Pats finally have a real RB for the 1st time since Curtis left.
They know how important Smith is and will not let him get away.
Nobody hate Terry Glenn but himself. He is his own worst enemy.
Hopefully he'll grow up and find success somewhere else.
Parcells denied reports that
he will be coaching the Bucs so take his word for what it is worth.
Go get a Dirty Sanchez from someone with the bug!
