| 8 straight losses, 9 games below .500, and All-Star break is coming up fast. This Knick team is ranked in the bottom 5 teams in the NBA, and desreves to be there. What I don't understand is why they have given up this year? This is very much a similiar team that made the NBA Finals in 99, that was on the verge of returning in 2000. How can this team lose it's energy, its hustle?
Now the Knicks have never been an offesnive team, its always been defnse, and that where they have suceeded. Last year they set the all time record for games in a row holding opposing teams under 100 points. They usually average below 90 in defense. This season, they are totally out of it.
I believe that Spreewell is the heart of this team, and should be who it is based around. When crunch time came last year in the playoffs, he asked for the ball and he put out, unfortunatly, the Knicks as a whole had dug themselves in deep that they couldnt get back out. Now, they are even deeper, looking at lottery picks instead of playoffs. Sprewell should not be traded, they need him as a leader. What they need to do is hire a competnet GM who wont fuck the Knicks over on deals, such as the LJ retiremnt payoff, Childs/Jackson etc.
This Knicks team needs to have fun again, and show that fun by loving this town and giving us some fucking wins. They have let down NY in a time when we don't need our sports teams selling out on us (See: Yankees, Mets, Jets, Giants)

| I watched today's game, it didnt impress me. They played the same caliber with teams that just played shittier . The 8 game lossing streak is the straw that broke the camel's back, and they will never crawl out of this hole. It's time to start looking at lottery picks.

| Hey look Im not defending the Knicks by any means. They have been outright awful this year and deserve every criticism they get.
However, none of that applies to the last 3 games.
I mean come on what game were you watching. They just played a classic game against the team considered to be the best Team in the East, if not one of the best, and they beat them, withstood numerous comeback attempts, and pulled the game out on their home court.
Before that they went coast to coast from beginning to end and beat another team that is one of the Top Teams in the East in Toronto on their home floor. Then the next night they are down 18 at Halftime, and come back and beat a good Phoenix Suns team.
Now once again, I reiterate, the Knicks have been outright awful this year, and every bad word said about them has been warranted, and Id almost rather see them lose so that they have a legit lottery shot at getting Jason Williams.
But you cant kill the team after the past 3 games, its been their best stretch of the season.

| I watch a game that saw them have a three point lead at the end of regulation, and they blew that. I saw them with the same lead at the end of the 1st OT, and they blew it. I saw them again with a lead at the end of the 2nd OT, and they blew that, and the only reason they didnt go to the third OT was because Spoon got fouled.
I saw them make stupid shots and bad rebounding. Yet again, I saw them put up at least 5 shot attempts, and none of them went in. I watch as they allowed over 90 points again in a game, during regulation that is. This Knick team has no excuse to allow any team to score more than 90, because they should be playing defense just as could as they always have. This three game streak is not a big deal, becase even the Grizzlies get three game winning streaks, and they've even beaten the Lakers this year.

| Yeah, you're right on that. I need the Knicks to go on a 41 game win streak in order to get me satisfied. I am so disappointed with this season. It's really sad that they gave up like they did, especially when this city needs as many entertainment outlets as possible. The Knicks entertained me today. I'll be very entertained when I see them in the playoffs again.
I thank you for your discussion, Francine.

| Well, i was going to start a new thread on the game last afternoon, but i decided to put it here. By far, this was the best game of the whole NBA season so far. It had every kind of drama and shot making you can get. I read the Times yesterday and they were saying how these Knicks can be just like the 99 Knicks, when they started horribly, then had a breakout game (against the Heat in 99), and turned it all around. Ever since the Toronto game, they have looked like they want to start showing off what they got. Now, they have a long way to go, but last night showed that they can play with anyone.

New York appeared to reach the low point of its season after a 111-68 setback to Charlotte last Monday, the worst home loss in franchise history. Star swingman Latrell Sprewell arrived 45 minutes late and interim coach Don Chaney later claimed that his team "threw in the towel."
Thank God the media will not let this up. The Knicks should be forever branded with that piece of shit they played last Monday. Maybe then they will get some motivation, take their balls out of their bitches hands and step it up. Philly better gt their ass whipped.

(AP) _ Charlie Ward did more in one quarter than he had in a long time, scoring 11 of his season-high 14 points in the final 12 minutes to lead the resurgent New York Knicks past the Philadelphia 76ers 78-71 Tuesday night.
The Knicks extended their winning streak to a season-high four games and held the 76ers to their lowest point total of the season.
It was just the second loss in the past nine games for the 76ers, who got just 15 points from Allen Iverson _ none in the fourth quarter _ on 6-for-25 shooting.
Ward, who hadn't played well in weeks and had scored a total of just 11 points in the previous three games, was on the court for the entire fourth quarter after logging just seven minutes in the first three quarters.
He scored eight of New York's first 10 points of the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer, a driving l5-footer and a three-point play off a reverse layup to give New York the first 10-point lead of the game, 69-59 with 5:27 left.
Ward later scored on a fast-break layup for a 73-61 lead after he and Marcus Camby harassed Iverson into a turnover, but Philadelphia pulled to 73-67 with a 6-0 run. Ward ended the streak by finding Kurt Thomas open in the low post for a layup with 1:11 left for his only assist of the night.
Mark Jackson had 11 points and Kurt Thomas 10 for the Knicks, who got little from their two leading scorers. Allan Houston shot 3-for-16 and scored nine while Latrell Sprewell shot 3-for-11 and also scored nine.
Matt Harpring had 17 and Derrick Coleman 12 for the 76ers, who had scored at least 90 points in their 10 previous games and hadn't been held in the 70s since Dec. 7.
Marcus Camby scored on an alley-oop layup off an inbounds pass at the first-quarter buzzer to cut Philadelphia's lead to 22-21, and Jackson banked in a shot from beyond midcourt at the halftime buzzer to give New York a 40-38 lead. Jackson took a bow after making the shot.
