O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Fucking Knicks. Layden is the WORST GM in the history of basketball. The Mavericks got these stars for nothing more than the Knicks wouldve given up. Fuck Layden, i hope he dies from stomach cancer. Anyway, Mavericks got Raef Lafrentz, Van Exel, Avery Johnson, and Wahad for Juwan Howard, Tim Hardaway, Donnell Harvey, a draft pick, and a pack of smokes. So, the starting lineup is: Lafrentz at C, Novitzki at PF, Finley at SF, Nash at SG, and Van Exel and Johnson at PG. Unbelievable lineup. I think the Mavs can be the favorite to win it all now, but my money is still on the T-Wolves. Marked Men (by espn.com) Today was the big day. And Mark Cuban wanted Raef LaFrentz so badly he was willing to take on some monster salaries. The deal is this: LaFrentz, Nick Van Exel, Avery Johnson and Tariq Abdul-Wahad from Denver to Dallas for Juwan Howard, Tim Hardaway, Donnell Harvey, a first-round pick and cash. Dallas gets its man, but other men, too. Go Knicks, Giants, Rangers, and Rutgers Men's Basketball (clinched NIT bid already, now shooting for NCAA bid) Long Live Psycho Bitch

The T-Wolves have never won a playoff series, and they are likely going to play the Spurs in the First Round again. They are a good team dont get me wrong, but I cant see them beating the Spurs, Kings, and Lakers in consecutive series to get out of the west. If anybody is beating the Lakers it would be either Sacramento or Dallas, but Id still put my money on The Lakers. And Scott Layden sucks, the Knicks suck, theres nothing else that can be said.

However, Juan Dixon, Probably a first team All-American out of maryland will be in the draft and probably be a lottery pick. as far as wilcox goes, i hope to hell he stays, he's one of the most exciting guys in the country...he's 6'10 with over a 4 foot vert leap. he dunked from the foul line in 2 games, he's just unbelievable. if he stays he'll be one of the best big men in the country next year as a junior. Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Thats great that you listed all those guys coming out this year but do you actually expect the Knicks to have a high enough Lottery Pick to even get a crack at the top 10? The Knicks are not going to be able to go into this years draft get a big man that will help us immediately. Should we draft a High School kid and have him come around in the year 2007? Please if you dont think we have to dump contracts at the end of the year to give us a chance at a big time free agent you're clueless "Stinky, who most certainly does not rule"- J.Norton

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | The Knicks just suck..I can't believe how far they've fallen in so short a time. I'm tired of this hapless team filled with old, heartless, awful players. Just got home from working at the Nets-Knicks game and I'm just fed up...At least seeing Mark Jackson leaving the locker room post-game totally dejected and looking in disbelief was some consolation because MAYBE, just MAYBE one of them care.. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Well, I just spent a week in LaLa land, so my knick suffering was over by 8pm each night. Best thing Knicks could do was not to make any trades. Who were they going to trade, and who could they get? Layden already F-d this team up bad. I've said it before, and I'll say again, worst thing for Knicks was letting Van Gundy win vs. Grunfeld. At least Grunfeld has a clue (see Bucks in standings). Knicks need to loose their way into decent lottery pick (maybe NBA can rig lottery again), and need to find suckers to get rid of contracts. Of course, giving Knicks good draft placement guarentees nothing considering their wonderful drafting history (from Kenny "Sky" Walker to Frederick "I want to stay in Europe" Weiss), but if they dump Layden, at least I can hope the knicks can have some kind of future

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: Yeah well see Van Gundy in the Playoffs. And how he beat Pat Riley 3 times, and should have been 4 if not for the bench fiasco. And look at how great the Knicks have been since he left. Van Gundy is a very good coach. The Bucks arent that great by the way, and the Bucks two best players, Ray Allen and Glen Robinson were already there when Grunfeld came over. Im not taking anything away from Grunfeld. He's a good GM, and is 1,000 times better than Layden, but I would rather have Van Gundy coach my team, than Grunfeld be the GM, as long as I have somebody who knows what hes doing as the GM, other than Scott Layden.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I have issues with Van G based on various stories I have heard about his relationship with other Knick management. Yeah, he is/was a good coach, but you still need the players, and Van G was behind some of the player acquisition. Is Byron Scott the reason for the Nets turn around, or Jason Kidd (and by extension, Rod Thorn?) I would have had confidence in Grunfeld's ability to hire another coach, and Van Gundy supposedly signed off/approved of Layden, as well as put his active stamp on player acquisitions after Grunfeld left. I may be wrong, but Grunfeld was here when Spreewell was acquired, Houston signed the first time (to a decent contract), and Camby acquisition. Capology has become very important in Basketball (though not as much as football), and Layden has made me sick in this area. I also feel Van G wasn't standup, looking to leave before season, and then departing as soon as season started getting f-'d up. He seems to have turned out to be just as much a rat as Riley was.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | quote:Byron Scott? [insert cartman laughter here] hell no. I have inside sources in that organization and they say he's an idiot, completely clueless. I have knowledge of some of his halftime speeches and the video reel he uses for halftime and he NEVER addresses what needs to be changed or adjusted. The reason for the Nets success = a tie between Jason Kidd and Eddie Jordan(who I hope the Knicks try to hire).
