Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 02	We all know that the U.S. almost doubled our medal totals, considering you guys have six times the population we do that is nothing to be bragging about. We also know that the biggest olympic sport is and always will be men's hockey. Once again we have captured the reign of best hockey country in the world. We had to watch the U.S celebrate in 96 at the world cup, and those damn Czechs in 98 at Nagano. Well what we all thought was true, Canada is the best in hockey, and if Gretzky chooses the team every 4 years chances are we will be the best for a long time.

It's amazing that the way people view the sport they win as being the biggest olympic sport. But if you want to get technical, the olympics aand networks make their money on sponsorships of gymnastics and mostly women's gymnastics. Look at it like this, if the olympics dropped hockey as a sport, some people would be disappointed but they would watch nonetheless. If the olympics got rid of gymnastics there would be outrage, anger and protests and alot of people wouldn't watch them anymore. Sometimes we can choose the path we follow. Sometimes our choices are made for us. And sometimes we have no choice at all.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	First off Johnny, Men's hockey is not the biggest event in the Winter games. Women's figure skating get's a bit more attention, you can tell by the times all of these events are held. But who know's what the Canadian press is telling you guys. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	Canada kicks USA's ass in hockey? You probably didnt even watch the game, and just saw the final score. That game was much closer than the final score indicated, Canada got 2 late goals to blow it open. Canada definetly deserved the win, wooo hoooo. Congrats.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	If the US played anywhere close to the way they played the first 2 periods against Russia, they would have the gold. The defense was sloppy and the Canadians got lots of great shots off of Richter. The U.S. kept shooting the puck into the canadian defensemen

Had there been any sort of elimination process they wouldnt even have been in the final round with the embarassing way they played in the round-robin. As for the medal count. Yeah our population is a lot bigger than yours, but your third world country is covered in snow.
