Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | With the recent flurry of trades in the NHL, got me thinking what are some of the worst trades in Sports history. Juan Samuel, Lenny Dykstra trade. Nolan Ryan traded from Mets before he was a HOF. There are a million. Calculate what we will or will not tolerate.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | How about the Cowboys trading Herschel Walker to the Vikings for 3 Super Bowl Titles. Or the Knicks trading Patrick Ewing for Luc Longley and Glen Rice...thats the main reason the Knicks are where they are now salary cap wise. After that move stemmed another bad move, and another, until you have the mess that you have now. Go Knicks, Giants, Rangers, and the 2002 World Champs: New York Mets Long Live Psycho Bitch This message was edited by Cluster F on 3-20-02 @ 5:12 PM

Amos Otis (multiple all star) for washed up Joe Foy Tom Seaver in prime for Pat Zachary, Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson, Dan Norman Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio. What about Sales? Sale of Babe Ruth, Sale of Julius Erving?

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: No way, I dont think the Kings have done too bad with Deadmarsh and Miller. They nearly beat the Avalanche in the playoffs last year and have been one of the best teams in the NHL over the past couple of months. If they had a goalie better than Felix Potvin they could probably be a serious Cup Contender. Rob Blake helped Colorado win the cup, but guys like Sakic, Roy, Bourque, Drury, and Hejduk might have a little to do with it too.

A few other doozies: Nets-76ers Julius Erving for cash (and not even alot of cash) Yanks-M's Jay Buhner for Ken Phelps Yanks-Red Sox Babe Ruth for cash (I believe) Mets-Indians Jeff Kent and Jose Vizcaino for Carlos Baerga

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: Once again, Not Harold Baines. George Bell!! OK I guess your talking about the Texas to Whitesox deal. Thats not the trade in question though. Sosa never flourished for the Whitesox, and Harold Baines is a Hall of Famer. The bad trade which this topic is about was the Whitesox-Cubs trade where George bell went to the Whitesox and Sammy Sosa went to the Cubs. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | True..though Bell and the White Sox had a couple of good years, 93-94. Still a bad trade though And I don't think Baines is such a HOF lock, he'll probably make it eventually though, since everybody does nowadays. He didn't reach 400 HR, or 3,000 hits, and pretty much stopped playing defense in 1987. But if Gary Carter came as close as he did, I'm sure Baines will get in at least on 2nd ballot

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: sounds familiar (hoo hoo ) :o quote: Was this such a bad trade? Mets weren't going to re-sign Cone, and we now see what Kent turned out to be. As far as Mets bad trades go, remember when they traded away Kent to Indians, Indians sent him to Giants (for Matt Williams who didn't do much in cleveland) before he became good. Same with Jeremy Burnitz (sent to cleveland, but became good when cleveland dealt him). As for David Cone deals, Mets ripped off KC worse: David Cone for Ed Hearn

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: Are you serious? Key contributor? Knoblauch botched more routine throws than even Steve Sax, and his offense was awful too. He never lived up to the gold glove winning, high OBP second baseman the Yankees were supposedly getting. And like you said, Milton has turned into a VERY good pitcher. Hell, Guzman alone turned out to be as good, if not better than Blauch-head. I love you all. I love you more than life itself... But you're all fucking mad.
