Anyone else starting to think that the Knicks are going to be in a similar situation to the Celtics in '97, when they were convinced that they were getting Tim Duncan, wound up with the #3 pick and wasted it on Chauncey Billups??? I know the Knicks are going to fuck this one up, even if they do get a top 3 pick.

With the 7th worst record in the league the Knicks can wind up picking 1-3 (if the win the lottery), 7 (if teams in front of them win), or 8-10 (depending on the number of teams behind them that move up in the lotto). Meaning that barring a trade, the Knicks will get a top ten pick to blow on Frederic Weiss Jr.

Worst case scenario--The Heat get the #1 overall pick.

The Knicks trade Latrell Sprewell for the 2nd pick in the draft. They take Yao Ming and he turns into the next Luc Longley and Frederic Weis.

That was actually a pretty damn good run. Maybe they could get Debusschere back to run the show.

I have problem with Patrick - but Kenny Walker? what did he ever do besides winning a Slam Dunk Championship. Mark Jackson ROY - Rod Strickland, didn't do much as a Knick - he blossomed when he left and who did we get for him....Mo Cheeks when he was way past his prime.

Unfortunately, most Knick 'rookies' rot on the bench since the coaches would rather go with the 'experience'
