O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Anyone else think the ping pong balls are rigged again to give the Knicks the first or at the very least the 2nd pick in the draft. Look at the conspiracy around Ewing's lottery and people said the Knicks card was bent. It turns out to this, if the Knicks get Yao Ming, he will turn into Felton Spencer. If someone else drafts him, he will turn into Rik Smits as people have compared him.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Well, I only post to "Official" threads ;) Yao Ming notes - 1) Ming had a few "private" work-outs/meetings, most notably with Knicks & Bulls 2) More than thinking only Knicks, I am wondering what chance that China will dictate where he goes. Rumors say that they want him to play for a city with big Asian/Chinese population - which translates to Knicks (NY), Bulls (chicago), and Golden State (SF); of these three, Knicks have least chance. I wonder how he'll like Memphis :-D If Knicks pick 7th, who should they take? 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with PASSION 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 4. Mets win World Series

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | With Francis & Mobley, it will be big surprise if they take Jay W. The trick will be to see if they can convince Chicago to swap with them and get add'l pick/players. Who knows? Maybe they'll trade down to 7 for knicks pick & Camby or spreewell. 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. It's interesting to think about giving Camby and the pick, then Houston can draft a PF or the C from Stanford and turn themselves into a good team. Since Yao is kinda a question mark, they might actually do it. Layden isn't bright enough though to figure it out. Count on them totally wasting whatever pick they get (after trades)

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | The sprewell part of the "rumor" I was repeating from NY Daily news; that goes under the assumption that he is a small forward (questionable) instead of the guard the others are. He may have more value than Camby to some due to the injury factor. As for Layden, maybe he can have a brick fall on his head, not serious to his health, just hard enough to give him amnesia......... 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 01 | I agree that they should take Jay W. and trade for a big man, and a first round pick as there are no really big men comming out this year. I hope that they do not grabe this unproven 7Ft giant, as all the scouting reports are fairly negative.
