God dammit, this will be the worst decision ever. This is a game for the fans to enjoy, can they enjoy a called game? Because the last group of players need the rest??? | ||||

And the fact that there is no MVP is bullshit, the LEAST you can do is give it to 1 guy on each side (Konerko and Bonds maybe?) | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | They could have played one more inning. Padillia and Garcia are starting pitchers thats why they were kept to the end so if the game went to extra innings. I didnt mind seeing Padilla get the extra work seeing as he is scheduled to start Thursday Night against the Mets. First off why is there no DH in the All Star Game? That is assanine to begin with, you have to waste position players to just pinch hit or a pitcher might have to come out if its his turn to bat. The DH should be used in Every All Star, and only in All Star games but thats another topic for another day. Another thing they should do is after the 7th inning, allow the starters from both teams to come back into the game. When the game is on the line at the end, Who do you want to see? Bonds, Rodriguez, Sosa, Giambi? or do you want to see Damian Miller, Benito Santiago,Jose Hernandez, etc.  | ||||

It was painful to watch...anytime Selig is made to look like a fool is a good day. Bud Selig getting heckled by his hometown crowd, with loud chants of "let them play" and the worst booing since Jason Giambi went back to Oaktown. Ahhh, it was a beautiful thing.  | ||||

During a discussion of the Yankees buying championships Ucker says "I heard Steinbrenner purchased Fenway Park today. That should really cut down on the amount of road games the Yankees have to play." Torre did shoot back with a Mr. Belvedere reference.

He said it was a disgrace that the players allowed it to be called a tie. He said that he didn't want to be one of those "in my day" guys, but in his day guys wanted to beat the other league. Starting pitchers almost always went 3 innings. This game was Baseball show at its worst, in that there seemed no competitive juice. It was as bad as the NHL all-star games with no hitting, or NBA with no defense. We don't need to see Pete Rose run over Ray Fosse, but when Bonds jokingly grabbed Hunter it showed they were playing a beer softball game. Baseball always had the best All-star games. no more.  2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....) 1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice 1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play 2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year 3.
