O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Hey Dragondick head. An ARena team couldn't last at the Garden, what makes u think people are going to go to the Coliseum for a fucking arena game??? I'd rather root for 0-10 hitmen. Rangers Suck!

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Because the Garden did nothing to promote their arena team. It will work at the Coliseum becuase they advertise for the team. You can say whatever you want about arena football because they are going 15 years strong, that's why the NFL is about to buy them. Seriously, why don't you give the league a chance. You could catch a New Jersey Gladiators game. If you give it a chance and go to a game, I'll be more than happy to hear your criticism. Tequila- I've been a whore for the Dragons website since I joined the board. [url=http://www.newyorkdragons.com]New York Dragons" target=new>Visit this Website New York Dragons Arena Football!!! O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Dragon, I went to about 6 CityHawk Games when they were around, and have been to about 5 Reddog/Gladiators this year. So don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I don't see many people heading out to the coliseum for AFL Night Game. It won't happen. Rangers Suck!

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | SpiderBob, that's cool. I'll admit I was wrong, it's just that usually when someone makes fun of the league they have no clue. I think if the Ducks can make it on the Island, then the Dragons definitely can. 1) They are a talented team (they have played in 2 championship games in only a 5-year history), and NY loves a winner. 2) Their marketing department is doing a great job (Anybody who watched the Hitmen game last night probably saw around 3 Dragons commercials.) People will go to Dragons games because they heard about the team firsthand, you probably went because you're a diehard football fan or you went with a friend whose a diehard football fan. Now through this marketing we are reaching people who normally wouldn't have heard about the league. Look at Los Angeles, they averaged 12,000 people a game last year because of great marketing. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I have been trying to stay optimistic about the XFL but I think it's fork sticking time. I love the concept and the rule changes, but after watching last night there is a disturbing pattern developing. The quality of play seems to be getting worse, not better. Jessies ripping on Rusty is not what football fans want to hear but it's obvious Vince wants to develop a cage match mentality. FootbalL was not meant to be played in Chicago in Feburary on grass painted with cheap paint. NBC is not going to continue running advertising directing you to other networks to watch other scheduled games. Nice idea, but it's time for the leauge to die. It at first you don't succeed, keep on sucking till you do suck seed. - Curly Howard.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Correct me if I am wrong, but The Avengers from LA play at Staples Center in the heart of Los Angeles. The Dragons play at the dumphole coliseum in Uniondale which isn't exactly 5 minutes from the city. Advertising is good, but will it do anything. Rangers Suck!

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Yeah, I guess you're right, but all they need to do is average over 10,000 and it will be a success. Most people could care less about how bad the Coliseum is, they just want to see the product, and in about 55 days, we'll find out if New York is interested in the product. I was surprised Soldier Field was able to stay in decent condition even with the rain. If that was Giants Stadium, it would've looked like an arenacross track. Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 00 | This just came from Bruisermania: WWF May Bail Out OF XFL The New York Post today reported that the World Wrestling Federation might bail out of its investment in the XFL at the end of this season. Linda McMahon was quoted at an investment conference yesterday as saying that they "are committed through this first season, [but we're] taking a look at it on a week-by-week basis." She added, "I think we have to evaluate the viability of the product in the marketplace." Basically, what that means is "The XFL is the Titanic and it's taking on water." While it will be a huge blow to Vince McMahon's ego for it to fail, the WWF has to be responsible and pull the plug if they see it is a losing proposition, which it certainly seems it is. The Post article said that NBC has committed to airing the league for two years, and NBC had no comment yesterday on what they would do if the WWF pulled out. However, it is believed that they will bail on the league as well, but that is just a hunch. Remember "The World Bodybuilding Federation"? For those of you who don't remember that, Vince McMahon thought he could bring bodybuilding to the same level that he did with wrestling. The project failed miserably. Now, it appears the XFL will as well.
