The 2001 NFL schedule was released this afternoon and at first glance it looks like there is no letting up for the defending NFC Champions.

The Giants open up their NFC title defense in Denver as they face the Broncos on Monday Night Football. The game is one of three Monday Night Football appearances for Big Blue (Oct. 22 vs. Philadelphia and Nov. 19 at Minnesota), and the first of four total prime-time contests this season (the Giants visit Washington in a Sunday night game on Oct. 28).

"This is the most demanding schedule we've had since I've been here, but we're looking forward to the challenge," said Giants Head Coach Jim Fassel. "Obviously we knew who we were going to play, and at that point in time I knew that it was going to be a demanding schedule for us."

I think that although they have a tough schedule, they will win at least 10 games.

Every 3 years. It's just the schedule thing. The year the NFC East plays the AFC West and the AFC East plays the NFC West. Next year we will have a Giants/Jets game because the NFC East plays the AFC East.

Their is No Guarantee that the Jets will play the Giants next year. Its an 80% chance. Their is one team you dont play in the other division. Up until when Cleveland rejoined the league they used to do it the way that the First Place team doesnt play the 5th place team. 2nd doesnt play 4th. And the 3rd place teams dont play another, that has been changed however due to scheduling conflicts with that method due to Cleveland joining the league.

This may be a stupid question, but what about Houston's new team? Do they start next season or in the 2002 season?

Francine is correct. It is not definite that the Jets will play the Giants next season.

BTW, Francine, are you male or female? It's hard to tell, since your knowledge of sports is so in depth, I tend to think you are a man.

I think Houston is slated for 2002 season.

Ummm they make the same amount of money they would any other game... They are both sold out for like 100 years

Tough schedule.
To bad there is no regular season game with the Ravens. I want some pay back.

Anybody with some Giant draft predictions? Just trying to take my mind of last nights Yankee loss to the Sox.
