| O&A Board Regular Registered: Mar. 01 | In my opinion, in the grand scheme of Rivalries, the Giants - Redskins is more historic and, in my mind, a bigger rivalry (maybe also cause my brother is a skins fan) Not that Giants - Cowboys ain't a great rivalry, but i do not think it is one of the elite rivalries of sports. Thats why this post is here, to debate and get other peoples opinions | ||||

I have been watching that since I was a kid and in the last few years with both of them having good teams it seems to have become more intense. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Francine, I think the best in hockey is between to orig 6: Mont-Tor, Det-Chi, Mont-Bos. It's just terrible that half of the teams suck. Only New Yorkers care about NYI/NYR. From the other side of the state: Bills & Dolphins Sabres & Toronto (history) Sabres & Montreal (familiarity) Baseball is definitely Yanks/Soahxs but Basketball used to be Lakers/Celtics...... | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I was thinking about best overall rivalry..... the fiercests, the meanest. Bo & Yanks is the best baseball rivalry because of the history. Sure someone in Cleveland might change the channel, but it's the best. As for hockey, the history (Canadiens have the pick of the french Canadian players, etc...), there has got to be some vicious history between a couple of teams. Det-Col is probably the best now, but there are some people in Montreal who just hate the Bruins no matter how good either team is. I'm just saying from a local perspective, the annual Devil thumpings, or the Potvin sucks do not translate as the greatest hockey rivalry because it is too localized.
