Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Is anyone questioning the bullshit series wrapup that NBC is trying to stuff down our throats? Bill Walton saying that competition was never at a higher level. And Doug Collins talked about how exhilarating each game was and the Lakers were absolutely pushed to the edge in each game. This is completely untrue. The Sixers played great in the first game and then the wheels came off. They limped through the next 4 games (exception for game 4) as they rarely closed within under 7 points each game. Philly was broken down and played shitty hoops, the Lakers exposed them in the worst way and dominated. And then the NBC crew goes on to talk about the incredible dominance of the Lakers, and their historic mark on history. This is BULLSHIT, the series sucked. It wasnt even as good as the Knicks vs. San Ant. Fuck both teams.

Game two was a 2 point game with 40 secs to go, and if not for 2 missed free throws would likely have been a Sixers victory. I will admit that LA outplayed the Sixers, but do not attempt to say that they dominated in all facets. Before this series started everyone said sweep..... didn't happen. You wanna talk about how dominant the Lakers were, talk about the San Antonio series..... that was domination. Now two, TWO! spots open! I have said all along that the Lakers were too talented, particularly with the injuries that the Sixers have been playing with. I predicted that the Lakers would win the series, and have never made excuses when the Sixers have lost games. I simply think that you were mistaken to say that the only competetive game in the series was game one. You are probably right, NBC overstated the competetiveness of the series, but to say that the Lakers completely dominated after game one is ludicrous. I say this partly because if you have watched any of the Sixers games throughout the playoffs, you know that they often fall behind and out of nowhere will shut a team down and make a 16-0 or 20-6 run and all of the sudden are in the lead, or at least right back in the game. I am not trying to take anything away from L.A. They played well. They are an extremely talented team with a great coach. We all knew they would win the series, and they had a tremendous playoff run. But do not try to act as if they had a cake walk in the finals. They were pushed harder than they had been at any point in the playoffs this year. If game two goes the other way, and Philly wins, we may have seen a different series. 3 of the five games were decided in the last 2 mintues.... to me, that implies a close game, and a close game is generally a good game. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | My biggest problem with Shaq is that he shoots freethrows like a GIRL... check that... those chickies in the WNBA shoot better than he does. He just like PRESSES it at the basket? It's one of the oddest things I've ever seen. I vote that he starts shooting underhanded like the basketball stars of the 1930's! Now THAT would be great to see. Adopted by Rone on 6/6/01

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Slack, its my opinion that as asixers fan there is no way you can be as objective as possible. Second, I personally cannot stand games where a team is down by double digits and may slice the lead down to below 5 once or twice. That is so anticlimactic. The sixers would make a run, and every time the lakers would fight them off and build up their lead again. Now, if Philly came back from double digits and then went up, and the lead flipped flopped, then that would be exciting. Shaq would leave, the Sixers would go on a run, and then he would return and the lakers got ther points back. At least in the Knick, San Ant series, games three, four and five all saw the Knicks up at some point in the second half. Yes im a knick fan.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I really hate the lakers. Yeah, they are pretty good, but who cares?? They have no class, and that play at the end of the game (alley-oop) was unacceptable. Fuckin assholes, especially Kobe. I think the WHOLE playoffs were rigged by the NBA, although I dont have any hard evidence, I am convinced that George Karl was right when he said that after Game six of the Eastern Conference Finals. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum. :)
