Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | We probably can all draw the conclusion that Cal Ripkin and Tony Gwynn will end up in Cooperstown in 5 years. How about other current players. Who do you think is a shoe-in, or will just squeek in to the Hall of Fame? This goes for any sport by the way. For me I see, Griffy, BigMac, BigUnit, Maddux and Clemens as definites. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Bonds is a shoe-in, jeter has more hits at his point in his career than anyone in history and a lifetime .330 average, i think barring injury and maintaining this level of play he's a shoe-in too. Here's to the nights we felt alive Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry Here's to goodbye, tomorrow is gonna come too soon... Anyone else wanting to be adopted IM me at Jemo123

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | all of the guys you listed are definates. guys like glavine, cone, mcgriff, and pedro martinez are on the border i think. i also think that by the end of their careers, if they keep putting up numbers like they are doing now, guys like jeter, alex rodriguez, manny ramirez, juan gonzalez, and maybe tim hudson could make it.

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Damn, how can I forget about Bonds? Might as well throw in Piazza when he breaks Fisk's catcher HR record. You Give Me Head, It Makes it Worse. Take out Your Fucking Retainer, put it in Your Purse. ---Jello Biafra

Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 | Don't care whether you like him or not, but Roger Clemens will make it. The year he's having isn't hurting his chances either. EDIT- Didn't see Clemens in the first post. So this post is worthless This message was edited by HaroldOfTheRocks on 7-20-01 @ 10:37 AM

Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 | Ivan Rodriguez has a definite shot. Depending on how long he continues to catch and if he can stay healthy.

Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | Kevin Brown needs something else to make it in. He's a good pitcher, but i Don't think he's HOF material yet. Coney is tough. As a Yankee fan I want to see him in the Hall, but He needs at least 200 wins before they let him in, I think.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | I can't believe no one has mentioned Rickey Henderson yet. Like him or not, he's a shoo in. All time leader in steals and walks. Closing in on all time lead in runs and 3000 hits this season. And he was quite possibly the greatest leadoff hitter in the history of the game.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Roberto Alomar has a chance. One of the greatest hitting 2nd Basemen ever. And he still hiting over .350 afer all these years.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Some guys no one has said yet... Edgar Martinez, i hate the DH position, but the hall of fame should include players from that position Moises Alou, a guy that nobody notices, but has HOF potential Nomar Garciaparra, i know its early, but out of the 3 big shortstops, he is the best pure player. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I don't think David Cone quite has the stats to make it. It's a shame, but barring some miracle, I don't see it happening. Another guy who is probable, but not definite, is John Franco. People always overlook the Relief Pitchers in these discussions.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Frank Thomas- 1755 hits, 361 doubles, 344 HR, 1183 RBI, .321 BA, .579 SLG. he is only 32 so if he puts together a few more seasons that he is capable of, he will be well over 400 career home runs. by the end of his career, he should get some serious consideration. Rafael Palmeiro- 2321 hits, 455 doubles, 400 HR, 1347 RBI, .296 BA, .516 SLG these are some serious numbers, and he's a very good defensive first baseman. he should get some consideration also.

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Growing up I was a big Dave Parker fan. Hits: 2712, 2B: 526, HR: 339, RBI: 1493, Avg.: .290 If he didn't F himself up with drugs in the early 80's, he would've been a shoe in. Found a good site for stats, and comparisons to other HOF's www.baseball-reference.com "Stared at the Mendi Gossamer for too long!"

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | i don't think cone will make it. he's had 3 or 4 great seasons and another 6 or 7 good ones, and he's around 200 career wins. that isn't HOF material if you ask me Garciaparra misses minimum a month out of every season, and hasn't played a single game yet this year. lets hold of etching his plaque until he can prove that he can stay healthy. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | Todd Hundley - most hr's by a catcher in one season! Nah, I'm kiddin. I like the guy, but he ain't nowhere near HOF material. Piazza probably, Leiter's making a run maybe with the last few years. What they should do is make a special section for the replacement dudes and have Rick Reed become the first inductee when he retires - the guy's been awesome and fairly consistent the past several years and he was a career minor leaguer before that.
