O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Baltimore looking to replace injured Jamal Lewis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By John Clayton ESPN.com For now, the Baltimore Ravens will work the streets before they talk trade for a replacement for Jamal Lewis, who is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Terry Allen was their first move. They reached agreement with Allen on a one-year, $477,000 contract that had a couple of hundred thousand dollars of incentives. The deal is pending until the results of his physical are available Saturday. Allen finished last season on the New Orleans Saints roster. He was a natural fit because he knew Brian Billick's offense when he played for the Minnesota Vikings. Friday, the Ravens worked out Mario Bates, Chris Warren, Allen, Robert Chancey and Greg Hill. The Seahawks showed early interesting in offering Ricky Watters to the Ravens for a receiver and a draft choice, but they decided that Shaun Alexander, their first-round draft choice last year, wasn't ready to take over the starting job. Seattle coach Mike Holmgren might revisit those thoughts in the next few weeks. Also available for the right price are Panthers halfback Tim Biakabutuka and Saints halfback Chad Morton and others.
