The final game thread... - Is it possible?

My motivation was more to make people think, than to have people actually heed my half-assed message board etiquette. The people will post what they want to post. I just made another thread in which they can post it. That's all.

I think if you just want to add the odd comment here or there, you can do so in a thread that has substance.

You know, you really make no sense at all sometimes.

Why can't you let these people post in one of their game threads? Maybe they like their one word answers to each other. Why not just admit you just wanted everyone to chat in a thread with your name on it? {}

I don't think I attacked you, I simply stated that you love to bitch about threads that aren't up to your standards, and reminded you that you have this beautiful little thing called choice at your side. You can simply choose to ignore things that aren't up to your standards of posting excellence, but instead you have a tendency to try to convince the world that the only things of any importance or merit are those that you feel are worthy.

Funny, they seemed to be perfectly happy posting what they wanted in the other threads. But then again, those threads didn't have the Kid Afrika seal of approved posting. Again, I call you on your hipocrisy, you start a thread complaining about certain types of posts, yet defend yourself by stating that people will post what they want.

Back to my "ignorance" for a second. I am not about to turn this into some huge "my dick is bigger than yours" debate, it would be pointless. You love to toss that ignorance label quite liberally. let me ask you.... is it my ignorance, or your arrogance?

It is my opinion that we post on message boards to appease ourselves. Therefore, it is our main goal to entertain ourselves at the expense or charge of others.

What you fail to realize is that I am not looking for anyone's approval, nor am I providing my approval to anyone. Rather, I am stating my opinion or view on an issue that is current to this message board. Again, if I do not offer an alternative solution, I am not helping to solve the problem. Whether that problem is real or perceived, this is my way of handling it.

If I wanted to be wishy-washy and just go along with everything that was accepted as the norm, I would be religious. But alas, I am not. I am a member of a message board. Message board implies messages. This is my message. If you don't like it, which all are entitled not to, you can post in another thred. I did not set forth in an existing thread spouting about how I don't like what's being said in it. Instead, I posted a thread proposing a new way of posting. You were not forced to post here. Just as noone here is forced to accept my opinion as the rule of the land.

Your ignorance is expressed in your failure to recognize a different perspective. While many may say that I am not recognizing their perspective, I say it is the perspective of the few that is worthy of further investigation. For, it is the familiar that we rarely suspect.

I always hated the label of chat thread. My objection is more towards game threads. To me, they serve no purpose. Thus then, I don't post in them very often.

I would like to post more, but I don't find many threads to which I wish to reply. To that end, I created this thread to state my view.
