Every summer the Grand Rapids Press holds a summer photo contest. I just got an e-mail today informing me that I've been selected as a finalist!

Not sure exactly how many people were selected, but I see that 12 other people got the e-mail, so it's possible that there were only us 13.

Rules allowed for two submissions. The initial e-mail I got didn't specify which of my two was selected, but it was either this or this.

I believe that all finalists will be printed in an upcoming Sunday edition of the Press, so keep your eyes open!

Tuesday Night 9pm Come down to Joe V's Sport's Lounge for some Karaoke and Stand-up comedy. They have amazing pizza and I have to say their Karaoke song list is awesome! Wednesday Night 9pm My favorite night to do stand-up. I'll tell you why in one sentence. No Cover and BYOB :thumbup: . This is a great reason to come out and get hammered for super cheap. It's the Sports Complex on 28th St. between Breton and Kalamazoo and located right behind the Aldi's and the next to the Roller Rink. Woodland Sportsplex 2100 28th St SE, Grand Rapids MI 49508. No one's gonna be there on August 5th though, because all the comics will be at Dr. Grins that night doing a comedy Roast for Stu McCallister.

Thursday Night 9pm There are two options this night. Option 1 is Dr. Grins located in the B.O.B. top floor and next door to yours truly. It's the most successful comedy club in Grand Rapids pretty much and many famous comics pass through here all the time. 5$ Cover and a 2 drink minimum. Option 2 is located in Allendale. Ok, this is one time where I want to actually gripe about the VIP stuff.

Normally I have no problem with the things they make VIP-only. I totally get and support the whole, "You pay, you get extra stuff" concept.

HOWEVER

When I was listening this morning, around 6:15/6:30 they were really talking up this video of a verbal beatdown from radio camp. They mentioned they were going to post it on the website, never saying it was going to be posted only for the VIP's. Come on, don't dangle the bait in front of us only to pull it back like that. If you're going to make something VIP-only, tell us right up front.

Who knows, maybe when they were talking about it later, after I had gotten to work, they were saying it was only for the VIP's, but when I was able to listen they sure as heck were making it sound like it was going to be a 'free' video for all of us to enjoy. :thumbdown:

Creepy listener time!

This morning the guys were making fun of Marissa pretty good and she did her defeated "aw man...I'm getting made fun of" sound, but like Zane pointed out last week, they totally sound like sex noises. I hope she never stops because I'm a big fan of it.
